Privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
What we know about you, why, who else sees it, and how to make us change or delete it. Short version: we only keep what we need to run your account, take payments and pay the promotions. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Danny Douglas, trading as BritDeath TV, is the controller of your personal data. Email: support@britdeath.com.
2. What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password that nobody can read back, and when you confirmed you are 18 or over.
- Payments: what you've subscribed to, rented or bought, how much you paid and when, and the ID Stripe gives you as a customer. We never see or store your card details; Stripe handles those.
- What you watch: which shows you play and for how long, counted in seconds of actual playing time, and when your rentals start.
- Promo codes you've used.
- Technical data: a login cookie (see section 7) and, in Cloudflare's logs, your IP address and browser details when you use the site.
- Emails you send us at our support addresses.
3. Why we use it
- To give you what you signed up for: running your account, streaming, taking payments, sending password reset links (because of our contract with you).
- To pay the promotions fairly: subscription money is shared between promotions by how much of their shows was watched, so we count viewing time. Promotions only ever see totals, never who watched (our legitimate interest in running the service fairly).
- To keep the site secure and stop fraud and account sharing (legitimate interest).
- To keep financial records the law requires (legal obligation).
We don't use your data for advertising and we don't sell it to anyone.
4. Who else sees it
- Cloudflare hosts the website, the videos and our database, and sends our emails.
- Stripe takes card payments and manages subscriptions. It has its own privacy policy.
- Promotions see total watch time, viewer counts and earnings for their own shows. They don't get your name or email.
- Authorities, if the law requires us to share something.
Cloudflare and Stripe may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
5. How long we keep it
- Your account details: while your account is open, and deleted within 90 days of you asking us to close it.
- Payment records: 6 years, because tax law requires it.
- Viewing time: kept against your account while it's open; after that only anonymous totals are kept, for the promotions' statements.
- Login sessions last up to 30 days. Password reset links work for 60 minutes.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or send it to you in a format you can move elsewhere. Email support@britdeath.com from your account's email address. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
7. Cookies
BritDeath TV uses one cookie of its own: bd_session, which keeps you logged in. It's essential for the site to work, so we don't need to ask before setting it. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Stripe's checkout pages and Cloudflare's video player may set their own cookies to stop fraud and to make the video play smoothly.
8. Children
BritDeath TV is for adults only. We don't knowingly let anyone under 18 have an account. If you think someone under 18 has one, tell us at support@britdeath.com and we'll close it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a big change we'll email you.
